As Florian Wirtz edges closer to a record-breaking move to Liverpool, Toni Kroos has shared his honest reaction to the Leverkusen star choosing Merseyside over Munich.

Toni Kroos shared his thoughts on Florian Wirtz’s potential move to Liverpool during an appearance at the Icon League indoor football event in Berlin.

Kroos admitted he initially doubted Florian Wirtz would join Liverpool but believes the Leverkusen star will thrive at Anfield.

He said (via the Mirror), “It was just obvious to everyone that he was going to Bayern.

It doesn’t matter if it would’ve been Bayern or Liverpool, it’s different from being at Leverkusen for sure – but he has all the tools to assert himself at any given top club, so we’re staying excited.”
